Sky Single Feed Mode – All You Need to Know

Satelite dishes on chimney in Romford

Home entertainment is a serious business, with most homes set up with internet and TV entertainment packages. Family time is important, as is personal time to unwind. TV boxsets and documentaries provide the perfect escapism, particularly over the last two years of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here we look at Sky single feed mode.

What is Sky Single Feed Mode?

Regular Sky boxes use two cables connected to your dish. This allows the user to record a show while watching another. Sky single feed mode is a recent addition to Sky+ HD boxes and can be selected on your Sky box to enhance your user experience.

Sky single feed mode ensures your viewing is not interrupted by error messages and technical problems. However, it should be noted that this is only available for Sky+HD box customers.

How to Set Up Sky Single Feed Mode

You can select Sky single feed mode easily without needing a Sky technician. The Sky cable needs to be connected to dish input 1. You must then choose the services button on the remote. Enter 001 and the select button to open the installer menu. Then select set up and single feed mode and turn it on. Ensure the setting is saved and press the green button when the prompt appears, informing you of the change and press select. Your box will restart, and the new mode will be set.

Contact a specialist, such as Aerials Direct, if you are unsure or experience any issues when attempting to set up Sky single feed mode.

Connecting Your Sky Box to the Internet

Sky boxes can be connected to an internet connection either in a wired or wireless way. For a wired connection, you will need an ethernet cable which must be connected with the ethernet port of the Sky box and the router. This will produce a fast and strong internet connection.

For a wireless connection, use the Wi-Fi password or the WPS buttons. If you hold down the WPS button on your router to make it flash and then the WPS Sky box button, it will connect to the internet.

To use your Wi-Fi password, select services, settings, choose network and connect with the password. Enter the password, and you’re set to go!
